Solid oak parquet was the heritage specification. Winderen engineered oak is what gets specified today on UFH-served interiors, multi-species marquetry projects and reduced-timber-footprint briefs. The 2-6mm top layer carries the visual; the substrate carries the structural load.

Up to 1500mm
Engineered allows oversized herringbone (1500mm), multi-species marquetry, and bespoke patterns. Solid oak limits the achievable block size.
One sand cycle
Winderen takes one sand-and-refinish cycle. Solid oak parquet typically supports 3-4 cycles, but at the cost of higher real-timber spend per m² from the start.
2-6mm
real oak top layer
~40% less real timber per m² versus solid oak parquet. The substrate handles structural load; the top layer delivers visual + sand/refinish life.
