Engineered wood flooring for Manchester projects
We supply FSC-certified Winderen engineered oak, PEFC-certified Vermont hybrid wood and Classic Cork to architects and specifiers across Manchester and the North West – supply-only, with real project references and the technical evidence a specification needs.
Specifying for Manchester’s building stock
Few UK cities are building at Manchester’s pace, and the range of what is being built is the point. Commercial development runs from Spinningfields and St John’s / Enterprise City to NOMA and MediaCityUK across the water in Salford; residential is dominated by high-density new build in Ancoats, New Islington and the city core; and the student market across the University of Manchester, MMU and Salford drives one of the largest purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) pipelines in the country. Layer in the Northern Quarter and Deansgate hospitality scene and a busy retail sector, and the floor specification has to flex from hard-wearing communal spaces to design-led front-of-house.
Which range suits which scheme
- Vermont – PEFC-certified hybrid wood, positioned for dent resistance and heavy footfall. For hospitality and retail, PBSA corridors and communal areas, and high-traffic office circulation.
- Winderen – FSC-certified engineered oak, 25-year warranty, plank and herringbone. For residential, hotel and front-of-house, and design-led office refurbishment.
- Classic Cork – where acoustics, warmth underfoot and sustainability lead the brief, particularly in education and wellbeing-focused workplaces.
Selected North West projects
The strongest reason to specify with confidence is work already on the ground:
- We have supplied specifiers including Hawkins\Brown on Manchester schemes.
- Our floors are down in Turtle Bay’s Chester restaurant (designed by MorenoMasey) and at Blackpool, where we supplied Classic Cork and Winderen – a mixed-material hospitality specification that pairs cork’s acoustic comfort with engineered oak underfoot.

Sustainable specification
With Manchester targeting net-zero by 2038 and embodied carbon rising up every material schedule, all of our ranges are third-party certified (Winderen FSC, Vermont PEFC), Classic Cork is carbon-negative, and we provide chain-of-custody documentation, EPDs carrying the A1–A3 embodied-carbon figure, and low-VOC data to support BREEAM and WELL credits. Evidence for specification
Every specifier quote ships with the pack a Manchester project team needs:
- Reaction-to-fire classification for the finished floor.
- Approved Document Part E acoustic data, with SilentLay underlay build-ups – directly relevant to the region’s PBSA and residential towers.
- Moisture / relative-humidity guidance for screeds and underfloor heating.
- Slip resistance (PTV, BS 7976) where the brief calls for it.
- EPDs and warranties – Winderen 25-year; Vermont PEFC; Classic Cork 10-year commercial / lifetime residential.
It all sits in our downloads library, and pairs with wider specifier support for architects.
Delivery and support across the North West
We are supply-only, so there is no channel conflict with your contractor. Samples are dispatched UK-wide to Manchester practices and site offices; deliveries are scheduled to site with city-centre access planned in; and you deal with one specifier contact from first sample to final delivery. Where the floor is glued down, we supply MonoSil P, our solvent-free, EC1 Plus adhesive, and can advise on the full coordinated floor system.
