Featured project

Cork harvest -- our supply chain in Portugal.

Cork comes from the bark of the Quercus suber. The tree is not felled. The bark is hand-stripped every nine years and regenerates within the same harvest cycle.

Net cradle-to-gate carbon is -101 kg CO2e/m2 once balanced with sequestration -- the only commercial floor category that takes more carbon out of the atmosphere than it adds.

"Eco-friendly is a contested term. We hold the bar at four measurable axes that BREEAM, LEED and London Plan actually assess: carbon, certification, indoor air, lifecycle."

Frameworks

How sustainability gets measured on a London project.

Mat 03 / Hea 02

BREEAM

Cork hits Mat 03 Exemplary; Vermont and Winderen hit Excellent on responsibly-sourced material plus strong scores on Hea 02 acoustics and Hea 05 indoor air.

M3 / W6

SKA Rating

Office fit-out specific. Cork and Organic both contribute strong scores on M3 (responsibly-sourced) and W6 (waste in use).

A+ VOC

WELL

A+ VOC band across cork and Organic. ISO 22196 antibacterial-tested cork wear-layer suits clinical and wellness specifications.

Circular economy

London Plan

Cork's regenerative harvest -- every 9 years from a living tree -- maps directly to the circular-economy criteria. EPD documentation supplied per project.

-101

kg CO&sub2;e/m² net

Carbon negative once balanced with carbon sequestration. The cork tree absorbs more CO&sub2; across its 9-year regenerative growth cycle than is emitted in cradle-to-gate manufacture.

Class B

fire rating standard

Bfl-s1 per EN 13501-1 across the range. Specified into commercial floors without additional fire treatment.

Zero

PVC in construction

No PVC. Cork plank + cork core + cork backing + UV-cured polyurethane. Specified into WELL, healthcare and SKA fit-outs that exclude vinyl.
