Vermont engineered wood in Olive Oak — restaurant interior, designed by Sagrada
Sagrada specified Vermont engineered wood in Olive Oak across the Sachi restaurant interior at the Pantechnicon — the Belgravia restaurant and bar destination. The Olive Oak tone reads warmer and greener than a standard oak palette, supporting the restaurant brief without competing with the food, ceramics and tableware that are the visual focus of a fine-dining Japanese interior.
Restaurant interiors are demanding for engineered wood: chair-led traffic across the dining floor, point loading from heavy banquette seating, the temperature and humidity swings of a working kitchen-adjacent space, and underfloor heating in most premium London restaurants. Vermont handles all of these. The hybrid construction (real wood top layer over a structural wood powder composite layer on a high-density HDF core) is engineered for UFH and dimensionally stable across the 30 to 60% RH range typical of restaurant interiors. Brinell indent resistance of more than 100 N/mm2 for oak holds up to chair-led traffic, and the antibacterial-tested surface (ISO 22196) is appropriate for a food-and-beverage interior.
