The Floor Gallery is a supply-only flooring partner for the UK trade. Architects, interior designers, main contractors, developers and hospitality and retail brands specify through us because we bring the full range of natural and low-impact floors under one supplier, with the specification data, bespoke finishing and sampling service a project actually needs. We do not fit floors and we are not a single-species mill, which means our advice is led by what suits the project rather than by the one product we happen to make.
What makes a good trade flooring supplier
Before choosing a supplier, most specifiers are weighing the same things. A strong trade flooring partner should offer:
- Breadth of range so one relationship covers cork, engineered oak, hybrid wood, resilient and bespoke timber, rather than forcing a compromise around a single product.
- Specification support with real technical data: fire, acoustic, slip, light reflectance, environmental declarations and ready-to-use clauses.
- Bespoke capability to match colours, textures and accessories to a scheme instead of only selling from a fixed catalogue.
- Responsive sampling so the design team can hold the material quickly and keep the programme moving.
- Trade terms and project pricing set up for contract work, not retail.
- A credible track record on the kind of projects you are specifying.
The sections below set out how The Floor Gallery answers each of these.
One supplier, the full range
Specifying through The Floor Gallery means a single point of contact across the whole floor palette:
- Cork: our Classic Cork and Cork Styles ranges, including waterproof and commercial-grade options.
- Engineered oak: the Winderen collection, FSC certified, with a 25-year warranty and formats up to oversized herringbone.
- Hybrid wood: the Vermont collection, PEFC certified, with fast UK availability.
- End-grain oak: award-winning wood block for high-traffic and feature areas.
- Organic resilient: a PVC-free resilient floor, Cradle to Cradle certified, suited to healthcare, education and marine interiors.
- Sirani: our oak-look laminate range in plank and herringbone for value-led specifications.
- BOFA: our custom-colour timber collection finished with a VOC-free hardwax oil.
- The Nosing Collection: matched stair nosings and trims to finish any of the above.
Across these we source oak, walnut and wenge. New wenge is not something we specify on environmental grounds; where a project calls for it we can supply reclaimed or old stock in smaller quantities, and we will usually steer specifiers toward responsibly sourced dark-timber alternatives such as fumed or dark-stained oak and real black American walnut. You can read more on our walnut and wenge page.
Specification support for architects and designers
We supply the technical evidence specifications are built on, including:
- Fire: classifications to EN 13501-1, with ranges achieving Bfl-s1 and Cfl-s1.
- Acoustic: impact-sound solutions for Approved Document E, with underlay datasheets.
- Slip resistance: pendulum test values (PTV) to BS 7976.
- Light reflectance value (LRV) for Part M and inclusive-design requirements.
- Environmental: EPDs, FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody, Cradle to Cradle, and low-emission credentials.
- Raised access flooring (RAF) compatibility for commercial fit-outs.
- NBS clauses and BIM information to drop straight into your specification.
Our flooring for architects hub collects this in one place, and our team will prepare project-specific documentation on request.
Bespoke colour matching and finishing
We match flooring to a physical sample, a RAL reference or a joinery piece, with two finishing routes: a Yorkshire site for fully bespoke one-off colours and matched accessories, and a Portugal site for volume consistency across large areas. Matched stair nosings, pipe covers, door bars and trims can be finished to the same colour. Our BOFA collection is proof of the capability in a ready-made form: custom-colour timber finished with a 99.4% VOC-free LED hardwax oil. See bespoke finishes and BOFA.
Service built for the trade
Samples reach London next-day and anywhere in the UK within a week, so design teams are never waiting on the floor. We offer on-site colour matching in London, trade accounts and project pricing on enquiry, and delivery across the UK and US. Because we are supply-only, we work alongside your own fitting teams and contractors rather than competing with them.
