Every project has a colour in mind before it has a floor. We start there. Floor Gallery finishes wood and cork flooring to order at our two finishing sites in Yorkshire and Portugal, matched to your sample, a RAL reference or a piece of the project’s joinery, and supplied with accessories finished to the same colour.

Looking for bespoke colour-matched wood flooring, or a custom finish, in the UK? That is exactly what we do. We colour match wood and cork flooring to any sample, RAL reference or joinery piece, and finish it in any texture, oil or lacquer, including a VOC-free option. For a ready-made custom-colour timber collection, see our BOFA collection, a Floor Gallery and Oslek Coatings range finished with a 99.4% VOC-free oil.
Two finishing sites, each built for a different kind of project
Yorkshire: fully bespoke finishing
Yorkshire is where the most individual work happens. Every texture, every one-off colour and every matched accessory is produced here.
- Brushed, bandsawn, hand-scraped, distressed and antiqued textures
- Colour matching to samples, RAL references and joinery pieces, with Oslek Coatings
- LED-cured hardwax oils, oils and lacquers
- Matching accessories: stair nosings, pipe covers, door bars and trims, finished alongside the floor so everything reads as one
Portugal: large-scale development finishing
Our Portugal site is set up for volume. It handles residential developments, hospitality and commercial schemes where consistency across thousands of square metres matters as much as the colour itself.
- Brushed finishes
- Colour, oils and lacquers applied at scale
- In-house colour matching by our Portugal finishing partner, Castro
- Consistent batch-to-batch results for phased developments
Not sure which suits your project? We will advise at the brief stage. Many projects use both: Portugal for the main floor area, Yorkshire for feature rooms and matched accessories.
How the process works
1. The brief. Tell us what you are matching and where the floor is going. A sample, a RAL code, a joinery offcut, a photograph of a reference floor: any starting point works.

2. Sampling, often the next day. In London we can come to you as quickly as the next day, and anywhere in the UK within a week. Working with Oslek Coatings, we can colour match on site with you, so you approve the finish against the real light and materials of the space. For large development projects, finished samples typically take around a week.

3. Sign-off. You approve a physical sample before anything goes into production. That sample becomes the reference for the whole order.
4. Production. Orders are finished in one to four weeks, depending on size and specification.
5. Delivery, with accessories matched. Floors ship with nosings, pipe covers and door bars finished to the same colour, so the installer is not left matching trims on site.
Textures
| Texture | What it does | Finished at |
|---|---|---|
| Brushed | Opens the grain for a tactile, natural surface | Yorkshire and Portugal |
| Bandsawn | Saw-mark texture across the board, rustic and architectural | Yorkshire |
| Hand-scraped | Gentle undulation, the look of a hand-worked floor | Yorkshire |
| Distressed | Knocks, dents and wear for a lived-in character | Yorkshire |
| Antiqued | Aged edges and surface to replicate historic floors | Yorkshire |
Finishes

LED-cured hardwax oil. A natural oiled look with a durable, fully cured surface from the moment it leaves our site.
Oils. Natural, repairable and easy to maintain locally.
Lacquers. Maximum surface protection for high-traffic commercial and hospitality floors.
What we don’t do, and why
No smoking or fuming. Traditional smoking and fuming rely on ammonia. We have chosen not to offer it on environmental grounds and achieve deep, rich tones through colour and oil instead.
No UV oil. In our experience UV oils underperform compared with LED-cured hardwax oil, so we don’t use them.
We can match anything

- Samples: an existing floor, a competitor sample or an offcut
- RAL colours: for designers working to a defined palette
- Joinery pieces: doors, cabinetry, panelling and furniture, so the floor sits with the rest of the scheme
Formats available with bespoke finishing
If it’s wood, we can finish it. Planks, wide planks, herringbone, chevron, panels and end grain, in FSC-certified European oak, walnut and wenge, and other species. We also colour and finish cork, so a cork floor can sit alongside timber in the same scheme.
Explore: Herringbone flooring London, chevron flooring, cork flooring, Winderen engineered oak and flooring for architects.
Who we work with
Architects, interior designers, developers, contractors, and hospitality and retail brands, across London, the UK and internationally.

Can you match my existing floor? Yes. We match to floor samples, offcuts, RAL references and joinery pieces such as doors or cabinetry.
