The Floor Gallery supplied the Classic Cork Collection across a residential flats development in Swindon. The cork floor was specified for the combination of acoustic comfort and sustainability that the project’s design and compliance brief called for.
Installed over our Silent Lay acoustic underlay, the build-up reached the impact sound performance needed to comply with Building Regulations Part E (impact sound transmission between separating floors of dwellings) — a critical compliance requirement for any residential flats development. The cork-and-Silent-Lay system absorbs footfall energy at source, reducing the sound that travels into the flat below.
