Council Building Conversion

Floor Gallery Organic Collection Pure Three flooring in the corridors of an old council building converted to flats - PVC-free linoleum-style flooring on Silent Lay cork & rubber underlay for Part E compliance

Council Building Conversion

Organic Collection Pure Three on Silent Lay sound reducing cork & rubber underlay An old council building converted to residential flats. The Floor Gallery supplied Organic Collection Pure Three for the corridors, installed over our Silent Lay cork & rubber underlay to comply with Building Regulations Part E for impact sound reduction on the separating floors above habitable space. The client specifically chose Organic over LVT to avoid vinyl smell in the corridors — a long-running indoor air quality concern that PVC alternatives don't resolve. The Organic Collection is a PVC-free, plasticizer-free bio-based polyurethane composite (linoleum-style), Class 43 commercial durability, A+ VOC rated. Combined with the cork-rubber underlay, the floor delivers Part E compliance, a clean indoor environment, and a tactile finish that residents notice the moment they walk into the corridor.

This project sits within The Floor Gallery's cork flooring portfolio — supplied UK-wide for residential, workplace, hospitality and commercial interiors.
