End-grain’s sustainability case is refreshingly simple: it is solid, responsibly sourced timber that lasts for decades and can be renewed in place. No printed films, no PVC, no veneer over a composite core, just blocks of real wood. For specifiers weighing material health and whole-life impact, that honesty is the point.
Responsible sourcing
The Endgrain Collection carries FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody certification, so the timber is traceable to responsibly managed forests, the evidence BREEAM and most client sustainability policies ask for under responsible sourcing of materials. As The Floor Gallery puts it, the aim is real sustainability through the product itself, not the buying of carbon credits.
Low processing, long life, renewable
Blocks are supplied raw and untreated, which keeps processing and added chemistry to a minimum and lets the finish be chosen on site. As solid timber, the floor can be sanded and refinished repeatedly rather than replaced, a genuinely circular maintenance model that, combined with end-grain’s exceptional durability, gives a very long service life. It is also a natural, low-emission material with useful thermal and acoustic properties.

Species
Six species give a wide tonal and grain range: oak, smoked oak, pine, spruce, larch and smoked larch. The smoked options give deeper, characterful tones; the softwoods read lighter and more rustic. Each shows the end-grain’s signature annual-ring pattern.
Finishes and formats
From the raw block, finishes run through colourless oil, extra white, white, transparent, grey and dark, with optional pre-oiling to enhance durability and tone. The collection comes in a range of dimensions and thicknesses, so it can be tailored to the project rather than forced to a single module.
