Flooring credentials for LEED and WELL projects
Our cork, engineered wood and bio-based resilient floors are made and documented for green building. Here is how they contribute to LEED v4 and WELL v2, with the third-party certifications, EPDs and test data behind every claim, to both EN and ASTM standards.
The documentation we provide
- Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) to EN 15804+A2, accepted under LEED v4, for our engineered wood and bio-based resilient ranges (e.g. Organic A1–A3 of 2.76 kg CO₂e/m²; Vermont hybrid A1–A3 of −8.74 kg CO₂e/m²).
- Test data to EN and ASTM, our Technical Data Sheets carry both European (EN/ISO) and US (ASTM) results, including ASTM E492/E989 impact sound, ASTM F1914 indentation and ASTM F970 static load.
- FSC® chain of custody for timber and cork.
- Certifications: GREENGUARD Gold (low chemical emissions) and Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver.
How our floors contribute to LEED v4
| LEED v4 credit | How our flooring contributes |
|---|---|
| MR, Building Product Disclosure & Optimization: EPDs | Product-specific Type III EPDs to EN 15804 (accepted by LEED) for our ranges. |
| MR, BPDO: Sourcing of Raw Materials | FSC-certified timber and cork; cork is a rapidly renewable, bark-harvested material (the tree is never felled); bio-based content in the Organic range. |
| MR, BPDO: Material Ingredients | Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver and 100% PVC-free formulations support material-ingredient transparency and optimization. |
| EQ, Low-Emitting Materials | GREENGUARD Gold certification and zero / low added VOC support the flooring threshold for low-emitting materials. |
| MR, Building Life-Cycle Impact Reduction | Carbon-negative cork and the low-timber Vermont hybrid support whole-building LCA and embodied-carbon goals (see below). |
To be precise: products contribute to these credits, the project team assembles the documentation and the building earns the points. We supply everything you need for the submittal.
How our floors support WELL v2
The same credentials map across to WELL: the Materials concept (PVC-free formulations, VOC restrictions, Cradle to Cradle and EPD-backed transparency), the Air concept (GREENGUARD Gold low-emitting materials), and, with cork in particular, Thermal Comfort and Sound, thanks to its warmth and natural impact-sound absorption.
The carbon story
Embodied carbon is where our materials stand out. Cork is carbon-negative on a life-cycle balance, a net of around −101 kg CO₂e/m² (EY “Value of Cork” study), and the Vermont hybrid uses roughly an eighth of the solid timber of conventional engineered wood, with a declared A1–A3 of −8.74 kg CO₂e/m². Both feed directly into whole-building LCA and embodied-carbon targets.
Specifying from the UK on a US project
We supply internationally, including Hotel Chocolat in Chicago. Because our products carry both EN and ASTM test data and full EPD and certification documentation, they slot into US submittals, and we provide complete documentation packs, EPD, TDS, certifications and NBS-format specification clauses, for your team. Talk to us early about lead times and logistics for US projects.
